Anyway Systems is a start-up spun out of EPFL that builds a distributed inference engine for large AI systems. Building this software involves expertise notably in system programming, distributed algorithms, GPU programming and software optimization.
We are opening a new junior system engineer intern position to help in the development of the inference engine. This internship position is meant to lead to a permanent position. Our philosophy is to hire a small number of talented developers to form an efficient team.
You
- Excellent skills in system programming, i.e. with manual memory management. Our software codebase is in C.
- Willing to take time and effort to clean up the code you wrote before pushing it. You are aware that code is to be read (by humans).
- Solid knowledge in algorithms, i.e. you know what NP-hard and O() notation mean, and are able to learn new algorithms.
- Solid knowledge in hardware, i.e. how to write efficient code where needed. Having experience in GPU programming is a plus.
- Having some knowledge in distributed algorithms, network programming, RISC or CISC assembly is a plus.
- You value mutual respect and loyalty.
Us
These are the core values that define Anyway Systems.
- The only goal of a software company is to build good software. Any other consideration should serve this primary mission.
- The value of a company is in its people. Skills are not all that matters.
- Happy developers are the best developers. Enjoying free time is the best way to be productive at work.
- This is an ambitious project, intended to grow to an international scale. Now is the right moment to join if you want to be part of this story.
